Polo Tournament, Dinner, Auction & Dancing
330 guests flew in from around the World to watch this year’s Pro Alvear Cup, now in its eighth year at the Polo Club Saint Tropez. Guests were welcomed with a MUMM champagne reception followed by ATLANTICO mojito cocktails. 3 piece acoustic band Entourage serenaded the guests whilst the 6 teams begun the annual tournament. The final saw JF Diamonds battle it out against Crisberry however it was Davor Luksic’s golden ball that saw Crisberry take the 1st prize. Sotheby’s Harry Dalmeny chaired the fiercely competitive auction; 2 bidders battled it out to secure the beautiful Matthew Williamson dress worn by the Lady Godiva. The designer was on hand to offer a second dress if the bidder doubled their bid which resulted in the hammer coming down at €70,000 for the lot. With other amazing prizes such as a John France 18 karat diamond ring and an Adam Whitehead print of Kate Moss – that was incidentally bought for guest Sophie Moss by a mystery bidder - it came at no surprise the auction raised €218,000 for the Argentinian children’s charity. Guests ended their night by dancing under the stars to DJ Bassam Ibellini.
Lady Godiva
The Pro Alvear lived up to its annual Lady Godiva tradition (the moment before the final chukka she rides out bare back to with the players luck). This year Bonito was ridden by New Yorker Alessandra Balazs dressed in Matthew Williamson, a Meli Melo bag and Corlette jewellery.

Pro Alvear
Fundación Pro Alvear supports the educational, social and economic development of the Argentinean Pampas region. This year they are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the charity which continues to support initiatives that include several IT community centers, science laboratories, sports and music Academies, large scale organic vegetable gardens and major forest regeneration projects. These projects are designed to combat poverty and protect hundreds of children in a beautiful and far away part of the world.
